IAO
Fraunhofer IAO is an institute of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft
zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung and has its
focus in the field of technology management and the application
of information and communication technologies. Fraunhofer
IAO has been participating in European research programmes
since 1983 and has been project co-ordinator in a number
of large research projects. The institute's staff consists
of an interdisciplinary team of computer scientists and
engineers with a strong background in knowledge management,
advanced system development methods and tools for information
management. The main area of work comprises knowledge management,
business process management, process integration, and innovation
management.
The IAO operates three labs for operational knowledge management.
In several research and consultancy project we work on process-oriented
knowledge management regarding information-technological,
organisational and human capital oriented solutions. In
this context a main focus is on unstructured, poorly standardised
processes.
Martin Delp holds a Diploma (master degree) in mechanical/
industrial engineering from the University of Munich. He
works as a project manager in international research and
industrial consulting projects in the fields of business
process engineering, knowledge management, and system integration.
Due to its sound background in research - especially in
business process aspects - Fraunhofer IAO was assigned to
the key role research issues of AMI-SME project. It is the
designated project coordinator and will perform as RTD partner
in the project.
