The biozoon GmbH, located in Bremerhaven, Germany and is a spin of from the University of Applied Sciences of Bremerhaven and employs today six people. Scientists and engineers with several years of experience as well in R&D as well as in business and project development have established the company in 2001.
Biozoon conducts research, development and production operations based on marine biotechnological systems (Blue Biotechnology) that improve the functionality of foods and increase the health of both humans and animals. The company sells licenses, concepts and products in international markets.
The core technologies are marine biopolymers, marine enzymes and especially innovative microencapsulated products. Main technologies used are spray drying, spry coating and prilling. biozoon develops projects and markets products through partners who can offer effective distribution systems for products and concepts and also complement Biozoon in terms of development capacity. It is important to find partners who have the capacity and drive to establish new ideas and products on the market.
biozoon´s strategy is to:
· continue research and development into the use of marine biopolymers and microencapsulation, and develop products and concepts that can be protected by patents
· develop methods that improve the stability of innovative ingredients both in productions and products
· co-operate with strong license partners with well developed market channels provide services and act as a specialised partner to the food industry and biotechnology companies
