GraphiTech
GraphiTech,
Center for Advanced Computer Graphics Technologies, located
in Trento and Rovereto, Italy has been founded as joint
venture between the INI-GraphicsNet Foundation, the Cultural
Institute of Trento (Istituto Trentino di Cultura) and the
University of Trento (Università degli Studi di Trento).
GraphiTech has been established in order to contribute towards
the transfer of knowledge between the research sector and
the industry through the promotion of research on advanced
graphic, information processing, knowledge management and
visual communication, including virtual reality and virtual
engineering. GraphiTech will stimulate collaboration and
friendship in the field of information technology, between
the Trentino region, Italy and Germany and it will perform
world-class research in the following areas:

virtual engineering (virtual and augmented reality, cooperative
virtual environments, 3D visualization and interaction),
-
knowledge and content engineering (knowledge management,…)

e-business and e-commerce (m-commerce, e-publishing, …),
-
digital media technologies (interactive television, data
bases, streaming, multi-media for Web, Internet broadcasting…),
-
interactive systems (visual programming, multi-modal dialogs)
-
new generation Internet (wireless and new generation networks,
services, communication, privacy, …), and
-
secure information technology (agent systems, platforms,
biometry, watermarking, and communication).
GraphiTech
will be committed to the promotion, organisation, financing
and start-up of companies operating in the field of the
scientific and technological development. Likewise it will
promote the industrial use of the results acquired by the
University and other institutes in the Trentino through
the promotion of research and projects.
