ICIE Ltd.

The Institute for Computer and Information Engineering (ICIE/ Instytut Inzynierii Informatycznej Sp. z O.O.) is a research and application institution based in Warsaw, Poland. It deals with information and communications technology (ICT), in particular with database management systems, information systems (including multimedia IS), networking and Internet, data mining and text mining. The Institute designs and implements, inter alia, business/industry/agriculture information systems, management/planning information systems, thesauri and terminology information systems, knowledge management systems, and library management systems.
Over the last years the Institute has carried out a number of ICT projects based on the Internet, intranets and extranets platforms. It closely cooperates with the UN agencies, such as FAO, IFAD, UNEP, UNESCO, UNIDO, and with international organizations such as Termnet, Infoterm, GTZ, OeFSE, IDLO, and IRTC.
ICIE has developed a methodology and a set of tools for designing and implementing advanced applications with Micro-CDS/ISIS databases. In particular, the Institute has developed an integrated library management system LIS/DIS and powerful tools for publishing ISIS databases on the Web. The system has been applied in more than 100 various institutions in Poland and abroad.
